The Role:

Currently, we are seeking a Junior Developer to join a team of software engineers to assist in development of integration software and mobile apps. A successful candidate should be able to work remotely from home in addition to being located – or be able to commute – to our office in Chobham, Surrey.

  • Proven experience in programming (must be able to show and explain a piece of code that the candidate has written, in any language)

  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Computer literate and a strong interest in IT
  • Able to manage their own time and prioritise effectively

  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities
  • Prepared to be flexible and take on tasks which are outside main responsibilities
  • An ability to assess each customer’s/colleague’s IT knowledge levels
  • The ability to explain clearly, even the most complicated ideas, to a non-technical audience

Key Duties:

  • Development of full-stack, browser-based and mobile applications (after training)
  • Development of translation maps and processes to enable integration of 3rd party systems (after training)
  • Server administration using the Linux command line (after training)
  • Completing development tasks assigned to the candidate through project management tools
  • Working with other developers, following a documented git flow
  • General IT support of PC usage for other members of staff

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would have a minimum of one A-level (or equivalent) in an IT-based field.

Moving forward:

The successful candidate will be put on a probation & training plan. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, a full-time, permanent position will be offered.
